All auctions on Unboxed Gems will close on Friday at 6 PM CDT. Unlike staggered closing auctions, where lots close at different times, all items in our auctions will close simultaneously. A Countdown Timer will be displayed next to each item on the auction page, showing the exact time remaining before the auction ends.

To ensure you have the most current bidding information, it’s important to refresh your screen regularly for any updates on bid activity and remaining time.

At Unboxed Gems, if a bid is placed on an item within the last 5 minutes of the auction closing, the bidding time for that item will automatically be extended by an additional 5 minutes. This extension allows all interested bidders the opportunity to continue competing for the item. The bidding time will continue to extend in 5-minute increments until no new bids are placed within the final 5-minute window, ensuring a fair chance for all participants.

This system helps prevent last-second sniping and gives everyone a fair chance to secure the item.

Unboxed Gems offers an Automatic Bidding feature that allows you to set a maximum bid amount for an item. The system will then automatically place bids on your behalf, increasing your bid only when another bidder places a higher bid. Your bid will incrementally rise to maintain your position as the highest bidder, up to your maximum bid limit.

If another bidder places a bid higher than your set maximum, the system will stop bidding on your behalf, and you will lose your position as the highest bidder. To continue competing for the item, you will need to submit a new bid.

Note: This feature is especially useful for managing multiple bids across different items without the need to constantly monitor the auctions.

If you are outbid on an item, Unboxed Gems will send you an immediate Outbid Notification via email to keep you informed about the status of your bids.

Please Note: Outbid notifications will only be sent until the auction officially closes. Once the auction is in its final stages, you will need to manually monitor your bids to stay updated. You can review the status of your bids at any time by clicking on the ‘My Bids’ option within your account.

To quickly review all of your bidding activity for an auction, click ‘My Bids’. This option is available on your account dashboard and allows you to easily track the status of all the items you are bidding on. Keep an eye on this section to stay updated on your active bids throughout the auction.

Please review all bids carefully before submitting them. If a significant bidding error is made, contact info@ubgems.com immediately. We will assess the situation to determine whether the bid can be reversed without impacting other participants’ bids on the item. While we will try to assist, we cannot guarantee bid reversals once the auction is in progress.

Invoices will be emailed to all winning bidders immediately following the close of the last item in the auction. This email will serve as your only notification, so please ensure you check your inbox once the auction concludes. The invoice will contain important and time-sensitive payment instructions, as well as details regarding item pickup or delivery. Please review the invoice and payment terms carefully to ensure timely processing and removal of your items.

Important: It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that the email address provided in your account details is accurate and up to date. Unboxed Gems is not responsible for missed invoices due to incorrect, outdated, or missing email information. Please verify your email address to avoid any issues with receiving your invoice.

If you would like to pay your invoice by cash, you must follow the two steps below, or your credit card will be automatically charged:

Step 1: Notify us that you’ll be paying by cash.

  • You must email info@ubgems.com by 10 AM the day following the close of the auction. In the subject line of the email, please include your bidder number and specify that you’ll be paying by cash.
  • Example Subject Line: “Bidder xxxx will be making payment with cash”

Step 2: Bring your cash to the pickup location by 4 PM on the first day of item pickup.

  • Payment must be received at the pickup location by 4 PM on the first day of item removal. If your payment is not received by this time, your credit card will be charged for the full amount.

Please Note:

  • Unboxed Gems does not accept personal or company checks, cashier’s checks, or money orders. Payment must be made either by credit card, cash, or one of the other accepted payment methods (PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay).

Your credit card on file will be automatically charged for your purchase unless you notify info@ubgems.com by 10 AM the day following the auction’s close. Please ensure the credit card you register with is active and has sufficient available credit. Upon registration, our system will verify the credit card. Bidders without a valid credit card on file will not be able to place bids. You can update your payment information at any time by selecting the ‘Payment Methods’ option in your account settings.

Upon arrival at the Unboxed Gems pickup location, please report to the administration desk to retrieve your Paid Receipt. You must present this receipt in order to collect your items. If a third party is picking up the items on your behalf, please notify us at info@ubgems.com in advance so we can authorize the release of your items to the designated person.

A buyer’s premium is added to the total purchase amount of your invoice. This is a standard industry fee and is calculated as follows:

  • Credit Card Payments: A 15% premium is added to invoices paid by credit card.
  • Cash Payments: A 12% premium is applied for invoices paid in cash, offering a discount.

Example: If your purchase amount is $10.00, the total amount due for credit card buyers is $11.50, while the amount due for cash buyers is $11.20.

Buyers must pick up their items on the Saturday or Sunday between 12 PM and 6 PM directly following the auction close. If items are not collected during this designated time frame, Unboxed Gems reserves the right to retain both the items and the payment. By participating in the auction, buyers agree to this policy and understand that failure to collect their items within the specified pickup window will result in forfeiture without refund.

Removal of items is the responsibility and at the expense of the purchaser. Buyers are responsible for providing all necessary tools and labor required for the safe disconnection, dismantling, moving, and removal of their items within the specified pickup times and dates. Items will only be released upon presentation of a Paid Receipt and must be done under the supervision of a Unboxed Gems team member. If a third party will be retrieving your items, please notify us at info@ubgems.com in advance to authorize the release.

Please Note: For safety reasons, minors will not be allowed in the area where items are being dismantled, disconnected, or moved.

If you would like your item(s) delivered locally, please email info@ubgems.com by 12 PM the day following the close of the auction to confirm your delivery request and process payment for any associated delivery and handling fees. You can also email us before the auction closes to get an estimated delivery quote. Please include your Bidder Number, the Item Number(s), and your Zip Code, and we will provide a quote.

*All confirmed delivery arrangements will be automatically charged to the credit card on file.

Unboxed Gems offers local delivery for customers within a 15-mile radius of our warehouse. Delivery fees are determined by the size, weight, and complexity of the item(s) and are categorized as follows:

  • Class A (Small Items): $25

    • This includes items such as small chairs, side tables, lamps, and other lightweight, easily portable goods.
  • Class B (Medium Items): $50

    • This applies to medium-sized items like office chairs, coffee tables, and smaller disassembled furniture.
  • Class C (Large Items): $75

    • This category covers larger items like couches, dining tables, and other furniture requiring moderate handling effort.
  • Class D (Oversized/Complex Items): $100

    • This is for very large, bulky, or complex items such as large sectional sofas, wardrobes, or items requiring significant handling, disassembly, or multiple movers.

Please Note: Delivery charges will be based on the highest shipping class in your order. Even if you purchase multiple items, you will only be charged for the highest category among them.

Important: Delivery arrangements must be confirmed within two days of the auction closing. Failure to confirm delivery within this time frame will result in forfeiture of the item(s) and payment, as agreed upon at the time of purchase.

Unboxed Gems provides optional in-home assembly services for customers within a 15-mile radius of our warehouse. Assembly fees are based on the complexity of the item and are categorized as follows:

  • Class A (Low Complexity): $25

    • This includes items like small chairs, simple tables, or other furniture that requires minimal assembly.
  • Class B (Mid Complexity): $50

    • This applies to items such as medium-sized desks, bookcases, or furniture that involves more components but still moderate effort.
  • Class C (High Complexity): $100

    • This category covers more complex items such as bed frames, larger tables, or multi-part furniture that requires significant assembly.
  • Class D (Extremely Complex): $150

    • This is for oversized or intricate items like large wardrobes, multi-piece entertainment units, or items with complex mechanical parts that require extensive time and effort to assemble.

Please Note: Assembly services are available for selection during checkout and are optional. After your delivery is confirmed, you must contact us to schedule a convenient time for in-home assembly.

Assembly is only offered for customers within 15 miles of our warehouse.

Before placing any bids, please ensure that you are available to pick up your items within the scheduled removal dates and times. These dates are set by Unboxed Gems, and we do not have the ability to extend or alter them.

Please Note: Refunds will not be provided for items that are not retrieved within the scheduled time frame.

For auctions held at the Unboxed Gems warehouse, items not picked up within the designated pickup window will incur a $50 per day storage fee until they are retrieved. If the value of your item(s) is less than $50, you will forfeit the item(s) without a refund. No exceptions will be made.

All items at Unboxed Gems are sold ‘AS IS and WHERE IS’ with NO WARRANTY or guarantees of any kind, whether expressed or implied. While we inspect all items and make every effort to ensure they are complete and undamaged, we do not guarantee the condition, authenticity, completeness, suitability, or merchantability of any item.

If an item is found to be damaged or incomplete, Unboxed Gems will evaluate the situation and may offer a partial or complete refund on a case-by-case basis. Refund decisions are at the sole discretion of Unboxed Gems.

All descriptions and photos provided by Unboxed Gems are done in good faith and are believed to be accurate; however, we do not guarantee the accuracy of these descriptions. Any known deficiencies will be clearly posted in the product description. Please note that the absence of a listed deficiency does not guarantee that none exist.

If you are unsure about the condition or functionality of an item, we recommend bidding accordingly and exercising caution.

Buyers are responsible for any and all expenses and damages caused to Unboxed Gems’ assets or property during the Item Removal process. Should any damages occur during pickup or handling, the buyer’s credit card on file will be charged to cover the cost of repairs or replacements

Unboxed Gems reserves the right to withdraw any item from an auction prior to the auction closing. While we take every step to prevent this, we assume no liability or responsibility for such decisions.

Unboxed Gems also reserves the right to add, remove, split, or combine lots, adjust minimum bids, and change auction closing times, delivery or pickup times, or extend, suspend, or reschedule any item(s) or auction event as necessary.

Unboxed Gems’ liability is limited to the refund of the item’s purchase price. These terms and conditions cannot be altered except in writing by Unboxed Gems.
